Camera as a Tool

Every photo is an expression of emotion.

Why do we choose to click on the shutter in a specific place and time? After all, most of the time we do not shoot a photo (except for those who are addicted to the story), so why at this very moment? There was something in what the eye saw at that particular moment that evoked some thought, some feeling behind that thought, perhaps an emotion we wanted to produce in the person to whom we are sending this photograph.

In fact, that’s how life goes, we collect moments of beauty, excitement, contemplation, special memories, experiences.

For many years, photography has been a highly effective tool for performing significant artistic and educational processes. It is an unmediated expression tool for processing and internalizing content in a “different” way. Photography enables empowerment in various ways and is able to bypass familiar “barriers”.

Photography is a mirror for the soul, beyond being a creative, accessible and fascinating field, it has become  a way to work on increasing personal awareness and self-confidence in the language of images and without words.

Photography allows to connect with emotions, even for those who are not naturally inclined to do so.  And because of this, I often give my trainees “photography” assignments. Everyone takes pictures today, and this is a precedent like no other in history, everyone possesses this power, and photography can be perfected so that it helps to overcome barriers that are blocked, for example, by “logic” and “fear” agents.

It works for me too, I discover the world through my photography and my experience is reflected in my photos I discover the world, and through it I discover myself: through the choices of the subjects of photography, the way I choose to photograph, how close or far I am, bright or dark, colored or black and white, minimalist or rich in details, creative or documentary, the mundane day-to-day or the trip to the end of the world, the desire to renew or rather be in the most basic place. It is an ongoing process, and the insights and benefits improve over time.

Photography is basically a language in which you can write yourself, to convey messages from you out to the world and back to you. But it is also a language through which you can read yourself through the eyes of others, as they see you. This reading can challenge for example your critical thinking about yourself, but not only.

I believe that every person has the right to present himself, to reflect his world to the environment and to have his say in a direct and unmediated way.

I believe that this special language can bring everyone closer to themselves and their environment, improve self-awareness and confidence and help discover new worlds – internal and external.
